About Campus

TICD – Uyole Campus is a public academic institution with a long-standing history in rural and community development training. Established in 1971 as a Training for Rural Development Centre, the institution has undergone several transformations and has, since 2008, operated as Community Development Training Institute (CDTI) Uyole under the Ministry responsible for Community Development. The Campus is located at Uyole Ward, Utukuyu Street, approximately 10 km from Mbeya City Council, covering about 20 acres. Strategically positioned within Tanzania’s Southern Highlands, it provides opportunities for agricultural extension, agribusiness, value addition, food security, natural resource management, and market-oriented community development skills. TICD–Uyole Campus offers Community Development programmes from NTA Level 4 to Level 6, leading to Basic Certificate, Technician Certificate, and Diploma qualifications. The Campus is NACTVET registered (REG/PWF/027) and attained full accreditation in 2020.TICD–Uyole Campus is strategically positioned as a centre for developing skilled community development professionals and advancing practical, community-responsive solutions for sustainable socio-economic development.
