About Campus

TICD– Buhare Campus became part of Tengeru Institute of Community Development (TICD) effective 1 July 2026, following the affiliation of eight Community Development Training Institutes. The campus is located approximately four kilometres from Musoma Municipality along Majita Road in Mara Region. Buhare Campus has a long-standing history dating back to 1966, when training commenced. It was officially inaugurated on 21 November 1968 by the late Hon. Rashid Mfaume Kawawa, the then Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania. The Campus is fully accredited by the National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) and currently offers Basic Technician Certificate (NTA Level 4), Technician Certificate (NTA Level 5), and Ordinary Diploma in Community Development (NTA Level 6). These programmes prepare graduates with practical knowledge, skills and competencies to become effective change agents and development practitioners at community and grassroots levels. Looking ahead, Buhare Campus is strategically positioned for expansion and modernization. Priority interventions include construction of an administration block, additional lecture halls, a digital library, hostels and a modern cafeteria; strengthening strategic partnerships and research collaboration; expanding smart classrooms, Wi-Fi and e-library services; and developing innovative revenue-generating initiatives.
